An international team of engineers responsible for the smooth operation of the Internet is currently working on setting standards for how to fight a growing wave of spam, is increasingly flooding the mailboxes of all Internet users.
New solutions to enable the authentication of the sender's e-mail address, which is to protect Internet users from spam bots using false addresses. In this way they manage to impersonate the list of unwanted mail from lists of popular domains such as hotmail. Com, and this in turn allows for penetration through a sieve spam filters. Group Anti-Spam Research, part of the organization of the Internet Research Task Force (IRTF), is currently working on identifying new standards, which will stop the oppressive wave of spam.
One of the major problems is that current solutions based on SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) is not clench protection against e-mail sender address forgery. "SMTP is the root of the problem of spam" - said Steve Linford, head of the British group to combat spam. However, the basic requirement of the new systems against spam is that they must be set for without any changes in SMTP - thousands of mail servers based on this protocol - which would be huge and costly undertaking.
